Tom Lukeman
General manager Operations, Dampier Salt Limited

Tom Lukeman was appointed general manager, Operations of Dampier Salt Limited in August 2006. In this role, Tom has operational accountability for three salt fields, including a small gypsum business, Engineering and Business Improvement support. Until recently Tom also had operational accountability for the Three Springs talc mine in Western Australia.
Tom has held a number of senior positions in his 21 year career with Rio Tinto, including Operations manager – Lake MacLeod (2003-2006), Six Sigma Black Belt based at the NZAS aluminim smelter (2002-2003), Concentrator manager at Palabora Mining Company (2000-2002); and prior to that various senior metallurgist roles with Palabora Mining Company (1998-2000),Hamersley Iron (1995-1998) and Technology & Innovation (1989-1995).
Tom holds a degree in Chemical Engineering (BEng-Chem Hons) from the University of Melbourne and is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt.
