Japanese Students Learn on the Job about Western Australia’s economy
It was an exciting day for three Japanese university students who found out they would spend their August summer vacation working at Dampier Salt.

Through our Sales and Marketing business CAUPL, four internships are offered to the families of Japanese customers. The three students who participated in the programme in 2009 were asked to complete a project on the economy of Western Australia and Dampier Salt’s role within it. They were also asked to consider strategies for expanding our markets.
To help the interns with their project they received English lessons and visited the Port Hedland and Dampier operations. Findings were presented to Dampier Salt’s management team at their end of the assigment.
Students really immersed themselves into Australian life by staying with the families of Dampier Salt employees.
