Port Hedland Teeball championships

Dampier Salt was pleased to be a major sponsor of the 2009 North West Tee Ball Championships in Port Hedland.

Tom Price, Karratha, Paraburdoo, Newman, Wickham and Port Hedland each fielded junior, intermediate and seniors sides. One weekend in August, games began in the early morning and ran through to 7.30pm.

On the Sunday, Tom Price and Paraburdoo vied for the junior title, while Wickham and Hedland played off in both the intermediates and seniors.

Tom Price took home the juniors shield, Port Hedland won the intermediate competition and was also was just too hard to beat in the seniors.

Tee Ball WA and Perth Heat were on hand during the championships to offer support. Players and organizers were very grateful for Dampier Salt's $6000 donation, supply of 100 drink bottles and marquees to provide much needed shade. 

Dampier Salt congratulates Frank Turner, production supervisor, who is not only the President of the Tee Ball Association in Port Hedland but also coached the winning senior's team.
