Community investment

Dampier Salt takes a very practical approach to partnerships - we allocate an equal amount of funds to the towns of Carnarvon, Port Hedland and Dampier to support various sporting and local community initiatives.

In addition, each year we award a Dampier Salt community grant of $50,000 to a deserving community organisation. In 2010 the community grant was awarded to Karratha's Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA) and for 2011 the grant has be awarded to Carnarvon Volunteers Sea Rescue Group and the Shire of Carnarvon.

At Carnarvon, a three-year partnership with the Graham (Polly) Farmer Foundation encourages and supports Aboriginal high school students to finish their secondary education.  It is hoped these young people will then go on and apply for and complete a university degree.

The Dampier Salt's Community Grant Scheme 2012 will be open for applications starting in February 2012 more information will be provided in 2012.
